The National Funeral Directors’ Association annual meeting, the world’s largest and preeminent funeral industry affair, was held in the City of Brother Love this year, Philadelphia.

ecoLegacy®’s Steve Smith, head of Global Sales and Amy English, Regulation and Legislation attended for the first time, accompanied by seasoned veteran, Patrick McCann.

With the growing interest in ecoLegacy®, this year’s trade show was pretty much back-to-back meetings with the many future partners for our company.

Amy English met with State regulators, funeral industry attorneys, industry leaders and NFDA staff in order to get a first-person snapshot of today’s funeral industry and came away with a deeper understanding of the profession’s landscape in the former colonies.

Steve Smith met with our commercial partners, NFDA staff and other key actors on the American funeral scene, both at the convention and on the West Coast prior to arriving in Philadelphia. Steve’s meetings will lead shortly to more visits by future commercial partners from the West and East coasts. It is likely that many of our 2017/18 delivery slots for ecoLation® units will signed by those in North America by Christmas.

Pat McCann attended all the meetings, as well as exchanging with ecoLegacy® investors present at the show, bringing them more fully up to speed on the wealth of recent progress and events.

The consensus from all our meetings was that consumers do want choice, and American funeral professionals, regulators, legislators, environmental and consumer groups, as well as the American public in general, are all favourable to the imminent arrival of ecoLegacy® in America.
